Frequently asked questions
About TrueSTB
What is TrueSTB?
A media player for your TV, phone, tablet and desktop. You connect the streaming service you already pay for, and TrueSTB gives you a fast, focused interface for watching it.
Does TrueSTB include channels or content?
No. TrueSTB is player software only — it includes no channels, playlists or media of any kind, and we don't sell or resell any. You bring your own authorised service.
Which services and connection types does it work with?
Stalker / Ministra portals, Xtream Codes accounts, M3U and XMLTV playlists, and provider server codes.
Which devices does it run on?
TV, phone, tablet and desktop. The interface is built to be usable with a remote's directional pad, a fingertip or a mouse — the same app on every screen.
Are my provider credentials safe?
Your connection details are used to reach the provider you chose, and nothing else. We supply no content and sell no data. When a device syncs its connection details to your account so you can see them here, passwords are stripped out first — they are never included.
Trials and licensing
How long is the free trial?
Seven days. It starts the first time the app launches on that device — not when you sign up — and no card is required to begin it.
Is the trial per device or per account?
Per device. Each device gets its own seven-day trial the first time it runs, so adding a second device gives that device its own trial.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can start the trial straight on the device. An account is for managing your devices and licences from a browser — you link a device by entering the six-character pairing code it shows you.
Can I use TrueSTB on more than one device?
Yes. Licensing is per device rather than per account: each device carries its own plan and expiry, so one account can hold several devices on different plans. There's no account-wide device limit.
What happens when a trial or licence ends?
The device stops being activated until a licence is applied to it. Nothing is deleted — linking a plan to that device reactivates it, and its connection settings are still there.
How is payment handled?
Checkout is hosted by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own payment page and are never handled by or stored on TrueSTB.
Can I get a refund?
Answer pendingRefund policy — needs a real window and conditions. (The backend supports revoking a device's licence for refunds and chargebacks, but no customer-facing policy is defined.)
How do I cancel a subscription?
Answer pendingCancellation process — self-serve via Stripe portal, or by contacting support?
How do I get help?
Answer pendingSupport contact — email address, form, or response-time expectations.
Still deciding?
Every device gets a week free before anything is paid for.
